Many of my students have never had the experience of growing their own food, nor have they learned about sustainable food growing techniques. Having the Aquasprouts system in our classroom will give them direct access to the unique and interesting process of growing food without soil. Learning how to be self suffuciant, grow healthy foods, and care about our global environment are the long range goals of this project. It is said that if you give a man a fish, he will eat once. If you teach him how to fish, he eats for a lifetime. This project will help my students learn to eat for a lifetime.
