The student desks will provide a variety of configurations in which students can work and learn. Today's 21st Century Learning Skills focus on independent as well as collaborative learning. Students need to learn how to work together as well as accomplish tasks on their own. These desks can easily be transformed into a square, a circle, an arc, or can be pulled apart into individual work spaces. There are many times where some students need to meet with me as a group, while others engage in independent work. I could have those students who need to meet with me bring their desks together as a group, while those working independently can have their own space. When we meet as a whole group for discussion, we can create a circle with our desks to have a discussion where we can all face each other. These student desks provide for a wide variety of groupings, while keeping a writing surface available for each child, leaving the chair option open for the seating that works best for that student.
