The multi-sensory room will be a therapeutic space with a variety of equipment that will help my students calm themselves in order to be better prepared to learn. Instead of using in school and out of suspension to handle emotional behaviors, students can use this room to decompress and return to class. They will have the opportunity to regroup in an alternate space. My students will have the opportunity to experience a variety of benefits from the multi-sensory room! They will regain focus with coloring books, low light fixtures and other helpful tools. This safe space will improve their socialization by giving them an area to explore and interact with others as well as become more self-aware. Our room will give my students the opportunity to expose their brains' reactions to the different senses and help them navigate in alternate environments.
