I use Chromebooks for daily math instruction with technology integration. I record each math lesson ahead of time, and students watch them in class (or at home if they're absent) so that instead of teaching a whole group lesson, I can actually work with small groups and target specific student needs. Students also complete all math assignments through Google Classroom. I turn the "boring book assignments" into pixel art or other interactive assignments that give the students instant feedback on if they are understanding the material or not.
Students engage in more active learning, and since I'm not busy teaching a whole group lesson, I am available to help individual students with whatever questions they have. Fast finishers can use Prodigy math to receive more targeted enrichment for their individual math needs. Students are excited to get started on their math each day.
I also use Flipgrid for students to record themselves reading fluency passages so they can hear their expression and see my models of fluent reading. I have students post reading responses to class Padlets where they can comment on one another's posts in a safe environment and learn about being better digital citizens, while putting reading strategies into practice.
