In my classroom, we had the opportunity to try out a Osmo set within our classroom through borrowing it from another teacher within the district at the beginning of the school year. My students loved the many different things that we were able to do with this! During math stations they can get out the number tiles and iPad and work on things from basic numbers to addition to subsidizing! During Daily 5, they are able to use it for Word Work both independently and with a partner. There are also some newer pieces that are available with the Osmo that I would really like to be able to bring to my students, pieces we were not able to try out! They have a draw as well as coding kit that would be so fun to bring to my students. I would really like to be able to bring three Osmo sets to my students. By being able to bring these new technology pieces into my classroom, I know it would be adding one more piece of JOY to my first graders! I am always looking for ways to make my classroom fun and inviting yet educational.
