Having a class set of "Bridge to Terabithia" will improve the reading experience for my students. My students are fully engaged when we are engrossed in a novel. Novels are something that we can discuss about and experience as a whole group. Having their own copy lets them follow along, refer back to for direct quotes, and feel a sense of ownership in the experience of reading the novel as a class. Reading "Bridge to Terabithia" will further develop my students' love for reading as well as literary skills needed for fourth grade. As we read the story, students will be answering comprehension questions, writing about the characters and important events, and thinking at a deeper level about the text. We will then watch the movie and enhance our writing skills as we write about the similarities and differences between the book and the movie. With our previous novels, the students tend to enjoy the book more!
