We will be tackling non-fiction in the spring. We have read many excerpts from text. But I want to read this book together as a class and discuss it. Particularly how 1 person can impact the world. We have a school wide goal to increase our abilities in writing. Specifically argumentative writing. We will use this text as building background for an argumentative essay about the environment. The students will have to make a claim, state several reasons for their claim, citing the text, predict a counterclaim and refute it. And then wrap it all up with a strong conclusion.
