These Chromebooks will optimize my students' access to technology throughout the day while they are at school. Because most of my students do not have internet access or access to technology in their homes, they do not have the knowledge needed to effectively work with technology. With Tennessee's comprehensive standardized testing now being online exams, familiarity with technology is a MUST for their success, in and out of school. Daily use of these Chromebooks will help students become fluent in navigating computers and using a keyboard. They will gain access to online websites connected to our curriculum in math and reading. They will use the Chromebooks to increase reading comprehension skills. With this exposure and practice, using technology will become second nature to the students. When students are expected to use computers in second and third grades for our state exams, they will not be intimidated by the technology. They will be able to focus on their exams and concentrate on their task at hand.
