Objects in this package are for the growing Port Chester Astronomy class and after school Astro club. Students will be using the Celestron NexStar 130SLT 31145 to view the celestial objects that they learn about in my class. Port Chester students are intensely curious of the world around them and have been excelling in their astronomy course. We have community-building astro nights in our planetarium where we will then also able to view the night sky with our new telescope. Students will be able to take ownership of their knowledge and present to their families all the things they learn about in class. Model rockets are for our after school astronomy club. In the spring, students will have the ability build and launch their own rocket. Under guidance, students will build their first model rocket and get excited for our next mission to Mars! This project would significantly help my students' understanding and appreciation for our solar system, as well as provide them with hours of hands on learning and build up the excitement of going to space.
