As I read, reflect, and learn about all that is going on in the world, I know I need to do a better job providing experiences for my students that will help us all grow as anti-racists. Whether I am reading to students at home during remote learning, or in person in the classroom, I want to be sure I have the right books to read-aloud. I want students to see pictures with faces that look like theirs and hear stories about people they may not yet know or understand. The books I have selected will help facilitate important conversations about equity, race, and valuing and embracing all parts of others and ourselves. These books also provide students with the ability to see themselves in the characters.
