Students will be using Bud, Not Buddy as part of the new curriculum which the district will launch in February. The book will be the primary resource students will have to engage with text. The test will support their development of comprehension, fluency and vocabulary as well, as building on the reading skills with which they are familiar. The books will be used for this year and the upcoming school years. These books will not only provide students with a resource for learning, but they will also build student passion for reading independently. A teacher knows that fostering a love for reading is the key to fostering a life long learner.
