These Hokki stools will allow fidgety students to move without having to leave their seats. Keeping my third graders focused and on task is one of my objectives to enhance student learning. Although I build in movement breaks throughout the day, some students need to move during a lesson which breaks their focus and the focus of those around them. I believe my students will be excited to use this alternative seating option. While my goal is to create an environment that is conducive to learning, I am also concerned about their safety. Traditional seating allows leaning back in their chairs and tip overs occur regularly. An added benefit to these stools is the design of the base allowing for some pivoting forward and back, and side to side. Students can both, move safely and remain focused on their lessons.
