At times, students and teachers want traditional individual seating: a desk with a four legged static chair. Desks can be grouped or can be solitary. But, for many situations, groups of students change - from subject to subject, or just in the course of a day when students from another class may come in to collaborate. This is why The Surf Portable LapDesk will be so beneficial. Last year, I had a few key students in mind when I ordered one to try, and hit the nail on the head. A single LapDesk was a doable out of pocket expense, but in order to provide more for my class, I will need your help! Imagine a vibrant learning environment. Our room is well lit with natural light. There will be many places where students can park a portable lapdesk to collaborate with classmates on a Civil War mashup, play a fraction math game, or sit together while they each tackle a Kanoodle® puzzle. Or, imagine the room with the overhead lights off, the blinds dimming the bright sunlight, and students on devices writing their Autobiography Encyclopedia. These LapDesks will mean some are on LapDesks on the carpet, some are at a traditional desk with traditional chair, some are on a balance ball, and others are seated with a few others at a large table accommodating 5-6 students. In the process, students learn more about how they work and learn best. Isn't that the whole point of education? Thank you, for your help!!
