The students in my classroom are mostly 9th and 10th graders. Over half my students come from low income household. We are located in a small to medium size city surrounded by farm land about 25 minutes outside of a major US city. My students come from a variety of backgrounds but have little expose to nature areas outside of city parks. The school has a 7 acre nature area that serves a an outdoor classroom. As a teacher my objective is to get students to experience science by hands on activities and service learning projects to understand how they effect the world and the world effects them.
