My students are in a special program called the LEAP program. This is the top 1% of our gifted population for the district. I teach all three grade levels, 6th, 7th and 8th, but do so without a classroom. I have to travel on a cart all over the building to other teacher's classrooms, as do the students. This does not allow me easy access to materials, or the space to carry many things. A document reader would fit on my cart and allow me to bring one text or document to show to the entire class with ease. It would also allow myself and my students to conserve more resources because we will only need one of something to show the whole class. To teach these children I have to be innovative, inventive, creative and engaging and this reader would allow me to do so many different things. Because my students are gifted, they are often overlooked as far as funding of supplies go, because they are seen as able to "adjust". This addition to my limited resources would truly be appreciated!
