Our progress and learning in the 2018 FRC season was limited by what we had access to. It is so important to me that before students leave the school and team that they have a fundamental understanding of basic tools and equipment to help them in their future. Operating and learning how to safely use a drill, a drill press, and a table top grinder is a great start to illustrate the job opportunities that are out there as well as teaching STEM values. Creating visually appealing and well crafted material is a must in an FRC competition. Most importantly, my students will learn the skills needed to open up a variety of options to them after high school that they may have never considered.
