Second graders are an active bunch. They need ways to release their energy so they can stay focused on their learning. They want to be out and about playing and dislike sitting in chairs. This year's class has extremely limited seating options which creates high levels of anxiety in my students each day as they try to get one of the few flexible seating options. The 3 wobbly stools that we currently have help my students stay focused on class. Like the Amazon description states, the stools are a, " ...LIFE-Changer for active kids, kids with ADHD and Autistic kids...Aggressive wobbling on a KORE Chair increases blood flow to the brain and thereby quiets the requirement for fidgety kids to move. Kids learn better and are more productive. The kid who may be considered 'un-teachable' is now able to learn!" That is exactly what my 2nd graders need more of: turning the wiggle jiggles into positive learning and successful learning. This project will triple the amount of wobbly stools in my classroom to help these underprivileged students to learn.
