Using Scholastic News, students will build on their language arts skills. All issues include reading, writing, collaboration, and organization skills. Students will be engaged with high interest current event readings. Lessons are standards based and offer ways to differentiate for struggling readers and non-English speakers. Students will have the option of using online tools such as text to speech and language translation. There are also engaging online activities that students can participate and interact with. Students will have the chance to learn new vocabulary, how to read charts and graphs, as well as the critical thinking skills employers are looking for.
