Our elementary school situated in the heart of OKC. The school qualifies as a Title 1 school with a high percentage of students qualifying for USDA funded free/reduced price meals. The school has implemented a weekly student-led assembly that includes U.S. and Oklahoma flag salutes, a patriotic song, a moment of silence, a word and quote of the week, along with student showcases. The weekly student-led assembly uses a student-produced PowerPoint presentation to assist as a prompt for students to follow along. A projector will allow students to display the PowerPoint so that all students can view each slide. The student-led assembly allows all students to gather as an entire school weekly to learn about life principles that include: citizenship; character; honesty; responsibility; attitude, etc. The student-led assembly also allows for students to become involve in public presentations and speaking opportunities. Except for the principal's report to students and faculty, students operate every facet of the assembly, including setting up and dismantling the equipment.
