My classroom is full of the wonder and discovery of 15 mixed grade students. All of them are full of ideas and are eager to learn about medical science. The 25 students in my mixed grade classroom attend a Title I public school. The majority of them come from low income homes with limited access to resources outside of the classroom. These students are of diverse ethnicity and all of them have a different story to tell. Over 75% of my students are English Language Learners who are building new vocabulary and learning English. All of my students are building their confidence in reading, writing, and learning scientific research writing. All 25 students in 4 different classes are ready to jump into new experiences and build their knowledge. My project's goal is to build a classroom that is rich in conversation, collaboration, and community. From a morning message that greets my students as they walk in the door, to shared readings, poems, songs, and science talks these computers will allow all of my students to engage equally with new academic content and be able to replay content with a press of a button. These computers will fuel there technological ability and will allow me to show off finish project in a timely manner. With a new set of computer, my students will be able to come up and share their ideas through presentations, discover new information, and add on or ask questions of their classmates. Over time, they will be able to enlighten other students into how using technology helped build their success in Science. Thus helping them take charge of their own independent learning. This project will have a lasting impact on my students' identities as learners.When they are able to write in the sciences they will own.
