In my class, students have weekly reading goals and assignments that they strive to complete. Sometimes they can become a little discouraged; however, I have found that they LOVE to earn rewards such as stickers, gum, and sweet treats! I've also requested some stress balls and motivational bookmarks to provide some added encouragement and stress relief while they work to meet their weekly reading goals. Acknowledging students hard work and reading accomplishments with a reward goes a long way in developing students' reading confidence! I'm hoping to start off the new school year with a prize box that will truly impress and motivate my new students!
