Students who take this course read at least one novel a unit, but they are asking for more! Once students are hooked on a title, theme or author, they are more likely to keep reading. Offering multiple titles in my Young Adult Literature Course promotes student choice and fosters thematic discussions through student-centered learning. With this project, I would like to increase my offerings and build up my classroom library for when students have independent reading time or time to borrow a book. Adding new (and newly released) titles to the course keeps my readers happy as well as introduces some new topics to our classroom discussion. These titles will also be used for independent reading.
