Since our school building shuttered its doors on Friday March 13th I have committed to teaching art weekly. Creation allows my students to create the world as they would like it to be. They look forward to our Art Day Friday! None of my students have pastels to work with at home, watercolor paint nor proper paper. Not having these materials has not stopped their amazing creations but it would certainly expand their ability for artistic expression. Most of the time my students are working with lined notebook paper unable to access plain paper, mixed media paper would be their caviar! Our past art lessons have focused on elements of surrealism, self-portraits and folk-art. I look forward to expanding their repertoire with these supplies.
