A carpet will help students have their own area to learn and work together. This particular rug gives each student his/her own space to sit and listen to a story or engage in flashcard reviews. Sitting in a desk all day is hard for second grades to stay still and focused. I like to have the students move around and engage in lessons in a less traditional style. It is very helpful for students that may have an attention problem or fidget. The children currently sit on the floor and it would be nice for them to have a rug to use each day.
