Help me create collaborative learning opportunities among my students with double-sided whiteboards and magnetic coordinate grids. Allowing students to see each other's thinking sparks great math conversations and collaboration among students - even while socially distanced! When we are no longer under COVID protocols, students can work in groups on a single task. 8th grade math uses the coordinate grid extensively - for functions, slope, and systems of equations. Having multiple coordinate grids allows students to see many representations of a concept side-by-side, and provides reference points for students who need additional visual cues.
