Kindergarteners come to school with a variety of reading skills. Using different types of books makes a huge difference during reading instruction. Big books help to keep students engaged and make the concept of reading very clear, especially to beginning readers. Having a listening center is a key part of kindergarten reading stations. It also keeps students engaged and excited about reading. These resources will help build a strong foundation of reading skills for my young students. As a new teacher, I do not have all the resources I need nor the funds to obtain all of the things I feel are important for my classroom and for my students. These books and listening library will help to make my instruction stronger and build my students' understanding.
