Books will be used to encourage students to read and promote literacy in a mathematics classroom. I have chosen classic titles as well as modern day bestsellers to try to promote my students to read. Also in need of math games to help students master difficult topics like integer arithmetic. Students really struggle as this is the major new skill they learn this year and they have to use the skill on many different topics throughout the year. Class also needs extra calculators as school only has so many so often during district wide testing my class set of calculators has to be pooled so all grades can complete testing. Also all of the school calculators are solar powered so we cannot use them when the lights are off and I am using my computer to project things. We spend a lot of time turning the lights on and off.
