Many students struggle with math concepts and need a boost through interactive and hands on materials to manipulate numbers and build number sense. Hands on learning with math is proven to stimulate more areas of the brain allowing students to make more connections to understanding math concepts. With these number cards, a wire rod sets, clips, and markers, my students will have access to a life size interactive number line to plot numbers and solve problems allowing students to develop understanding of number magnitude and improve fluency. I plan to further develop this number line by incorporating fractions and decimals as students develop skills to properly use a number line to solve problems.

About my class
