My students realize that technology is an important part of their future. Right now we do not have enough technology for everyone to use a computer. We would like a set of Chromebooks so kids can research topics, write essays, and learn to code. Recently, my students have done research and analyzed World War 2 propaganda posters. They were able to find examples of old posters and analyze the message being communicated and how it contributed to the war effort and people's lives in general. My students are also studying Egypt. With computers we can take virtual tours of the pyramids and really see what Egypt was like in 3000 BCE. Not an easy thing to visualize as an 11 year old. Computers are an important tool in any classroom today; that is their future.
