These sensory items will make a difference in my students' learning and improve their school lives by helping to decrease problem behaviors, increase attention and focus, and help with participation and socialization. The giant comfy pillows will be used for creating a calming space. The smelly play doh will be used to hide and seek items for tactile input. The storage organizer will be used in the sensory space to store all of the materials. These materials will help target visual, auditory, tactile, proprioception and olfactory systems for improved self-regulation. These systems when well-regulated can help students become more successful in school and at home.
