Every year, our third graders learn about biomes. At the end of the unit, they research a biome of their interest. In order to make this possible, they need multiple copies of books at their reading level with colorful pictures of each biome. Having these books will allow them to fully understand what a biome is, especially for my English Language Learners. They need to be able to see what a biome looks like through pictures. Having these books in the classroom will engage and maintain their interest in biomes. It will make a difference in their learning by allowing them to each have multiple copies of each biome. This will allow them to quickly dive into their research project. They will be able to read them every day because they will be easily available to them. We will need Adaptations Instant Learning Center to use during centers every day. This will allow students to explore and learn how animals adapt to their surroundings. Biomes of the World in Action DVD Series will give them the opportunity to see how animals and plants are able to survive.
