My students need more books that fit their unique reading lives. I have a wide range of reading levels and interests in my room and I have chosen books that will meet my students where they need it. Getting my students engaged in the book with the topic and having that book at a good level for the individual propels their reading growth. I have targeted sports and history to meet my students' current interests. I have listened to what my students want and I am working hard to deliver! Watching my students' faces light up when they find a book that sparks their unique interests and is written at their level is one of the great joys of teaching.
