My students love learning about all different forms of art and they deserve to have the supplies, markers, paint, paint brushes, and plastic trays, ready to create their own art too. It's a true joy finding art projects to go along with class curriculum and to see their learning come to life through vibrant and creative works of art. Last year, I was hindered by what art projects we could do in the classroom, because of the lack of supplies I had. As a newer teacher, with very low funds for all classroom supplies, my art supplies mostly consist of things generously handed down to me from other teachers. With these donations of oil pastels, liquid watercolors, cake temperas, etc, no art project will be out of the question for my students. I was also able to run a 6-week Art Club at my school last year for 2nd and 3rd grade students. There was so much interest in the club, my hope is to be able to do it again this year for a longer period of time. So your donation will be reaching even more students than just the 28 in my classroom! When children get a chance to express their creativity and dive into art, they develop confidence, increase their empathy and discover how to look at the world from different perspectives. All those skills help prepare students to take on the world with passion and creativity.
