Students will be energized and motivated to learn with new, clean, fully intact desks! Funding for furniture in North Carolina is basically unheard of these days. It is very difficult for schools to purchase furniture, since most money is earmarked for technology or other items. With broken desks and seating, it is nearly impossible to focus on the task. By contributing to getting 21 new student desks, we will have more than half our our classroom with new seating, and will be able to toss all broken desks. SAY NO TO DUCT TAPED DESKS! Please make it possible for my 100 sixth grade students to sit at functional, unbroken desks. I have had many students tear clothing as they walk throughout the classroom because they get snagged on broken edges. I have taped up desks and chairs with duct tape to make them functional again. Thank you!
