My students love to learn, especially in centers. However, because I am a first year teacher, I don't have all the resources I need for our classroom. My students learn best when I integrate art with language arts. I have requested boogie boards so my students can practice their writing skills and erase their work with the press of a button! I know they will love practicing their letters with these boards. The colored pencils will be used so my students can show their reading comprehension skills through their colorful drawings. They will also use these pencils to practice their sight words with rainbow writing. I have also requested magnetic letters to use on our white board, Wikki Stix for the formation of letters and creating sight words so my students can enjoy learning their words in a creative and fun way during center time. The dry erase pockets will be a fantastic addition to my classroom because I can insert a worksheet in the pocket, and my students can write on the pocket with markers. This will help protect the environment because I can reuse the worksheets over and over, saving paper. The Wiffle balls will be used to help my students develop their motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
