Students will be researching, producing and presenting information regarding natural and man-made disasters and the various ways technology and community affect the preparedness and response of such detrimental impacts. Students will be focusing on disasters throughout the world, both recent and historical, while analyzing the outcomes and possible solutions to some of the world's most powerful natural disasters. To do this, students need up-to-date information as well as the necessary tools to engage in research and presentation of information, and most importantly, understand the ways the global community can prepare for these difficult catastrophes, both natural and human caused. Research and writing skills are invaluable in today's world! With all of the misinformation on the Internet, it is important to teach and facilitate appropriate research skills in order for tomorrow's leaders to engage and understand the world around them. Of course, students also need to communicate their ideas and research via a variety of methods, which is why it is highly important to have the three requested Chromebook computers within the classroom. Finally, the expectations of these students are great, and with your help we can make tomorrow a better place for all!
