At Tower Rock, the two first grade teachers and I co-teach. I provide the reading intervention, math intervention and English Language support. By adding small group tables to our first grade classrooms, we will be able to set up the variety of classroom spaces needed for multiple teacher led small groups. The classroom teachers and I are excited about co-teaching large groups and then working with small groups to meet diverse learning needs. None of the students will need to leave the room for intervention. This means fewer transitions and more time for learning. Also, all of the students will be able to benefit from the knowledge and expertise of learning from more than one teacher. When students learn in the same space as their peers they feel included and this is an important part of the safe nurturing environment we provide at Tower Rock School.
