My students unknowingly increase their literacy skills in my class while they are leaping, turning, galloping, jumping, and DANCING! Each semester, I teach 25 different classes. All of these classes get a chance to learn how to dance in various styles, learn a choreographed dance, and perform for their family and friends, without having the pay the increasingly high prices of a dance studio. Your generous donation will help ALL of my students, whether they are physically handicapped, an ELL, a child with learning disabilities, or in an advanced work class, gain inspiration, a thriving arts education, and most importantly, the self confidence that comes from dance. The books that are purchased will not only entertain and engage the students, but they will help with their vocabulary, reading comprehension, and writing skills. The projector will allow me to show the students famous dance performances, dances from around the world, and people that look just like them dancing in front of huge audiences, inspiring these young artists. Students enter and exit our classroom excited and I know that with these items, they will only be more inspired, passionate, and eager to continue to dance.
