I’d like to obtain 15 ukuleles to be used with upper-elementary students (primarily grades 4 and 5). Here are some key points why ukuleles are a great asset and addition to the music classroom: -Excellent method to cover a multitude of musical concepts: pitch, rhythm, harmony, expression, etc. -It’s both a solo AND ensemble instrument. -Ukuleles are relatively inexpensive instruments. -You can sing AND play the ukulele at the same time. -The size is perfect for young students. -The ukulele is relatively easy to play, setting students up for success in learning a new instrument. -The ukulele inspires students to play an instrument outside of class. -It’s fun and a popular instrument!
