Technology is an integral part of the 21st century classroom. Working in an inner city, there is limited funding and access to technology. If the goal is to prepare our students to be college and career ready, then it is imperative that we teach them how to appropriately and safely use technology for educational and real life purposes. Having an individual laptop for each student would allow the teacher to model lessons, web navigation, etc. and allow the students to apply learned skills in real time. Students can access thousands of assistive technology programs that can further their individualized learning.
