Happy students mean students want to come to school and I believe they will be engaged in their learning. Students will take ownership in what works best for them. Each student is unique and has their own special needs. While learning, some do best standing, while others are more comfortable sitting. Some need to wiggle, while others can sit still. Flexible seating is the answer. Providing giant comfy pillows, a carpet, table and chairs, and balance ball seats will make a huge difference in my classroom. Some of my students have anxiety. If they are comfortable in the classroom environment, they will want to be at school. Students who have good attendance and feel comfortable will find success.
