I have an energetic group of students who are eager to learn, but have the wiggles. They have difficulty sitting in their seats so we do a lot of activities that have them standing. I currently have four rolling chairs and two bean bag chairs that my students are able to use, and I'm amazed at how popular these seating choices are for my students. The alternative seating allows for the wiggles to get out, and I find the productivity increases by those who are sitting in these chairs. Because of this, I'd like to provide more choices for students as to where they can sit and be comfortable. Flexible seating seems to becoming more and more popular, and from the research I've read, students who are allowed to pick a comfortable spot to sit increases their focus which will increase learning. That is why I'd like to provide more options for flexible seating such as foam furniture in the classroom to help increase focus and learning as well as meeting the needs of students with extra wiggles.
