The students that attend my class on a daily basis are students who have academic challenges and gaps in their learning. It is my job as their teacher to present old concepts in a new way to help them fill in the pieces of their education that have been missed. The games and manipulative I have chosen will give my students the opportunity to put their reading, writing and math skills to use in a fun and productive manner. When students finish an assignment there are electronic devices with programs to enhance their experience, the headphones will allow the students to work and not disturb others as they beef up their skills with curriculum based programs to help kids make progress on individual goals. Learning takes place in all aspects of our lives, if I can teach alternative ways of learning I can increase the chances of students making significant progress not only in a school setting but in life as well. Thinking outside of the box is often frowned upon in school settings but when students have learning challenges it is necessary to tap into other unconventional methods to help kids be successful. I pride myself in finding those methods. I believe the items that have been selected will enhance my student's learning and allow them to be successful. By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement and success in school and in life.
