Our students use puzzles to build fine motor skills as well as learn colors, shapes, categories and how to work together with a peer. We also incorporate sensory activities such as play-doh and sand to help build our imagination with multiple textures. Some of our students benefit from having fidget toys into our learning to help our students focus and participate within our classroom. We teach our students to transition between activities or locations to help them function more effectively while out in the community. To help our students learn when it is time to make a transition we use timers that help provide both a visual and audio cue.
