Unfortunately, resources are extremely limited at my school. Our classroom does not have any student technology, nor do we have any books for curriculum. Much of the text provided to students are black and white copies. Having Time for Kids magazines available for all students would provide rich and engaging text that we are severely lacking in. The articles provided in these magazines would inspire reading, offer in-class debate topics, have a direct connection to social studies and easily be integrated into writing class. Time for Kids will help my English language learners develop their reading, writing, listening, speaking, and oral communication skills. Ultimately, having this resource will help promote a lifetime love of reading that students will take with them long after leaving my classroom.
