With the pressure of higher academic tests scores, my kindergarten classroom no longer has a dramatic play area. Dramatic play is an essential part of developing a young person's overall learning. When children "play" they learn leadership, collaboration and problem solving skills. With the addition of a this requested Pretend & Play Refrigerator and Stove, and multicultural play food assortment my kindergartners can have fun while they role play and experience feelings, behaviors and situations that otherwise would not occur during the school day. I've also ordered multi cultural dolls for a playhouse that no longer has them. The use of multi cultural dolls will help children to appreciate and respect all cultures.
