We are requesting funding to purchase "The 7 Habits of Happy Kids" storybook for parents in multiple languages. The 7 Habits are going to become a new school-wide initiative, so we want to get families on board as soon as possible.
Our students will be coming home using the language of the 7 Habits and we want parents to be able to use the lingo as well to improve their family dynamics. Starting a parent book club will strengthen the home-school connection, as well as foster relationships amongst the parents. The stories give parents concrete suggestions for implementing the 7 Habits at home and in school. Habits such as "Put First Things First" and "Think Win-Win" are very transferable. Parents will have to opportunity to read about and discuss the habits with other parents to deepen their understanding. Parents will also be invited to give the school feedback on how we can better implement the habits in the classroom. Students will benefit from hearing the language of the habits at home and at school.
