Firefighting today requires that firefighters have a firm understanding of the concepts of the dynamics of fire and how the physical and chemical aspects of burning materials impact fire "behavior". This knowledge is essential in the protection of the public and firefighters during all types of fire events so that whether fire is confined within a structure(s) or raging in outdoor spaces, knowledgeable firefighters are able to predict how the fire will progress. With the advent and use of modern construction practices, firefighters must operate quickly and efficiently in controlling the threat. The items requested in this project will assist with my presentation of the chemical and physical science aspects of fire for firefighting students at our career center.
