Welcome to my page! Choosing music to teach was simple. Music is beautiful, rigorous, and fun to create. Working in a career I enjoy is exciting even after seventeen years of teaching. I believe every activity in music should be aimed at improving students' awareness of the expressive qualities and refining the ability to both express their own ideas and understand the ideas of others. Because musical expression is rooted in human experience, any study of that expression must take into account the context in which a piece is written and performed.
