Our school is developing a new "flex" period which allows us to work with students on academic and enrichment basis. I plan to teach my students to crochet their own scarves as an enrichment piece. Students ask me all the time to teach them to knit, sew, and crochet. Often there isn't enough time or money in our budget to facilitate this project. Students will learn to be persistent as they follow step by step directions. Projects will take time and patience to complete. Students will develop positive social behavior and team work. In addition, using the yarn helps develop fine motor skills.
